Hey Jenks! I’m Terry Davis — Master Electrician and proud owner of TL Davis Electric & Design. I’ve been crawling through attics and checking panels in Jenks homes for over three decades, and let me tell you — one of the most common problems I run into is overloaded circuits.

I know, I know — not the most exciting topic. But if your lights are flickering, breakers are tripping, or your microwave shuts off every time the toaster runs, this one's for you.

What’s an Overloaded Circuit Anyway?Picture your home’s wiring like a highway. Every appliance and device is like a car. If you load up too many cars on that highway — boom — traffic jam.
In your home, that "jam" looks like:
  • Constantly tripping breakers
  • Buzzing outlets
  • Warm faceplates
  • Or worse, melted wires behind the wall
None of that’s good.

What’s Overloading Jenks Homes?
Here are the top troublemakers I see in town:

🛁 Bathroom Blow Dryers & Heaters
Everyone’s trying to get ready in the morning, and the bathroom circuit just can’t handle the blow dryer and space heater at the same time. Next thing you know — breaker trips.

🍳 Overloaded Kitchens
Old Jenks homes weren’t built for today’s lineup of kitchen gadgets — microwaves, air fryers, fancy coffee makers — all pulling from the same old circuit. That’s a recipe for overload.

❄️ Window AC Units in Summer
This one’s a classic. Plug a big ol’ window unit into a bedroom outlet that’s already powering lamps, chargers, and a TV — and it’s gonna trip eventually. Happens every summer.

🧺 Laundry Room Surprises
A lot of laundry rooms still share circuits with lighting or other rooms. Add in an iron and folding station, and that 15-amp circuit’s toast.

🛠️ Garages Turned Workshops
Chest freezers, workbenches, compressors — I’ve seen garages with just one circuit trying to do it all. That’s a no-go.

Here’s What You Can DoIf this all sounds familiar, don’t worry — there’s hope.
We can:
  • Add dedicated circuits for big appliances
  • Upgrade your main panel if it’s too small for modern needs
  • Rewire problem areas like kitchens and garages
  • Add GFCI protection where it’s needed
The best part?

You don’t have to guess what’s wrong. I’ll come out, give your system a look, and let you know exactly what’s up.

Let’s Fix It the Right WayIf you're in Jenks and tired of flipping breakers or crossing your fingers every time you plug something in — it’s time to call in a pro. At TL Davis Electric & Design, I do things by the book (and by the code), and I don’t cut corners. Ever.

Even if it’s just for peace of mind, I’ll give your electrical system a once-over and make sure everything’s running safe and smooth.
